Ingredients for the dough:
20 full tbsp of flour
250 ml carbonated water
50 ml sunflower oil
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
Ingredients to grease the dough:
14 tbsp sunflower oil
7 full tbsp of flour
Ingredients for the apple filling
6 apples ~ 1.2 kg ( you can either grade them or cut them in small pieces...as you like )
5 tbsp sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon ( add less if you don't like the strong taste of it)
3 tbsp bread crumbs
Optional: 100 g butter
Optional: dried cranberries / raisins, chopped pecans / walnuts
2 tbsp powdered sugar to sprinkle on the top of the strudels.
Create a dough by mixing the ingredients written above. Put it in the fridge for 30 min.
Meanwhile, peel the apples and grade them. Add them in a pot over medium heat.
Add the sugar in the pot too.
Stir and let them fry until the apples become moist and the juice they leave is almost entirely evaporated.
Add the butter, the cinnamon and the bread crumbs.
Remove the pot from the stove and let the mixture cool down.
Take the dough out from the fridge, stretch it into a very thin layer and grease it with the mixture of oil and flour. Fold the dough as shown in the video.
Put it back in the fridge for 30 min more.
Take it out again, divide it into 2 equal parts.
Stretch each part as thin as you can and add on each dough sheet half of the cold apple mixture. Spread the apple mixture on the dough sheet.
Roll it, cut it according to the dimensions of your oven tray and put it in preheated oven at 220 C for about 30 min.
In the end, sprinkle it with some powdered sugar.
Enjoy!
