Do I have to collect the back rub there or do you ship him around?

Great tip with the blade and how to shave that tiny bit off.

That's what I'm doing today.... perfect timing...

IMHO, Since you have a sacrificial zero clearance fence, the cut should be perfect from the very first time. What I think is that you marked the piece on the side that is away from the fence, otherwise lining up the mark with the blade's cut on the fence would give a precise cut. Anyway, this method works as well as the one I learned and use

I find a plane with a 45 degree shooting board much easier and more accurate for the fine tuning part. That said using a handsaw for small pieces also works better than a miter saw.

Miter saws seem like such caveman tools. Coarse as hell blade, way overpowered, etc. No finesse

Norm Abram used this guillotine-like trimmer to true up his miters on one episode. I thought that was the coolest thing, but way too specialized and costly a tool for me to actually own. A couple of years ago, a friend who I hadn't seen in 15 years contacted me, and said his father died. Was getting rid of all his woodworking tools. Among other things, I was given that same miter trimmer! Now for a project where I actually use it!

Good idea to make the direction marking, I've dropped a few clangers chopping the wrong way.

Do you have tips to cut precise bevels of different angles?
I am building a geodesic shape and every corner has a different angle but they need to be super precise for it to glue properly

No production does it this way... with quality. They all miter to within a half a millimeter of the mark, then let the small gap ride...

Hmmm Maybe I couldn't see well enough, but it seems like the molding piece is reversed? I usually see the taller flat part of the molding go up against the edges of the opening and then slants down to the panel... oh, well... I like his videos either way...

I am always intrigued by how simple difficult things look in the hands of a craftsman. Btw, Harbor Freight has an after market centrifically operated laser sight that very easily and inexpensively adds to most chop saws. I added one a few years ago and love it, I always wondered if you ever tried one and your thoughts on it?

Modern mitre saws will have a laser which will make cutting at precision easier.
