It’s largely due to the fact that the initial audience is now in their late 20s and most have moved past what faze originally was. To stay relevant they had to market to younger audiences. They had to almost completely shift their content style to videos that appeal to a modern teen audience (their demographic). The original members have had their share of scandals, the company also went public and tanked in the stock market.
