It seems that as the number of COVID cases in the US rapidly increases, the messaging coming from the Trump administration just isn't matching the scientific data - it appears the president just doesn't quite get the outbreak. In this video, we look at the current status of the pandemic in the US then consider how and why this doesn't match Trump's rhetoric.

Trump: "open schools "

If this is "winning" then I agree with Trump: I'm sick of winning.

Trumps handling of Covid 19: "If the car is making noises like it's about to breakdown, keep going. Just turn the stereo louder and the problem will go away"

During his presidency Trump marginalized science, this is what happens when a society does not value science.

Data: Cases are increasing.
Trump: Puts fingers in ears. "I can't hear you! LA LA LA LA LA..."

I'm amazed we're even having this discussion.
Lowering the testing will obviously reduce the positive results but that's the logic of a five year old

Someone needs to get an 11 year old, 10 year old, 9 year old, 8 year old, 7 year old, 6 year old and a 5 year old, slowly explain this to each of them, then work out which ones understand it and which ones believe lowering testing means we'll have less infections. This important question needs answering, Is trump less intelligent than a 5 year old?

He’s like a 6yr’ old who covers his eyes during a scary movie. Except he’s not 6yrs. old.

Trump and his administration know exactly what they are doing. You just have to understand what their priorities are to understand their agenda. As you can easily see, their priority is not preserving lives or our countries constitutional ideals. Their only concern is monetary, specifically for themselves and those they deem worthy.

The administration is "managing" the pandemic with both eyes on the calendar. "As November approaches we MUST get the economy going again. The people will really like this. It will be tremendous."
Well...it looks like this strategy will backfire as states in the Trump belt experience a huge increase in infections which is already resulting in re-imposition of restrictions and a fresh economic hit just as campaign season heads into its silly season.

Quarantine fatigue, complacency, and bluster make a deadly combination.

I'm not convinced that they don't understand. I think it's more a case of just not caring.

Singapore: Locks down the whole country when wide spread cases came up in dorms.
US: Does nothing.

(also, I've been told Singapore has had 40k cases with 7k in community cases, so... Ya.
Also, 26 deaths, so the US has done extremely poorly.)

Sorry to say that but I still don't get how a country that's branding and priding itself on being first in everything managed to elect a row of such incompetent people. As far as I'm concerned, US has lost its leadership onto the world and China is fulfilling the vacancy. Consequently, I'd like to see more humility coming from this side of the ocean when talking to the rest of the world...
