With Forza Horizon 5 only a few months away this project was to test a more immersive experience for the game. Additionally, this will allow for races to be slightly more interesting in Chic de La Auto. There's the why, here's the how.
Several attempts to have encircling gameplay footage were met with less than desireable results. The aha moment came when I viewed an ultra widescreen monitor. Forza Horizon 4 was compatible, but when started up it wasn't showing up in video settings. With a little help from the interweb a result showed up saying to go into the NVidia control panel, change resolution, select customize, and enter in a 21:9 ratio (3440x1440). It will revert back to the original screen size, but then you can select it under custom resolutions. When you go back into Forza Horizon 4 you will see the 3440x1440 resolution as an option now.
OBS is able to capture this resolution by entering in the numbers manually and Adobe Premiere Elements just needs a slight adjustment. Here is the advice from S24 Sammy's Blog:
The Solution:
By editing some configuration files in Notepad (or a similar program), custom project templates can be created with the desired frame size. By default the files you are required to edit can be found at:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 2018\Settings\SequencePresets\NTSC\
How it Works:
After creating a copy of the preset file, open it in your favorite text editor. Near the bottom, you will find the VideoFrameSize attribute. Change the values inside the attribute tag to match your desired output resolution in pixels. For example, a 1440p 21:9 project would look like:
VideoFrameSize 0,0,3440,1440 VideoFrameSize
Export the file as an AVI so iClone 7 can recognize the format. Plane C or D are suitable wrap around objects and just double click on the texture box and select your avi file.
