International Women's Day 2024 - The Black Mambas Female Anti-Poaching Unit

We are proud to work with many incredible #WomenInConservation, who make a difference for our natural world every day. 🙏

For this year’s #InternationalWomensDay we are focusing on our project partner @theblackmambas – the world’s first all-female #antipoachingunit.

These women operate as boots on the ground within wilderness areas, as well as role-models in their communities.

Over the past 11 years the Black Mambas have expanded their operation to protect more wildlife and employ more local women, and in 2022 Helping Rhinos funded the creation of a Crime Prevention Unit, to compliment the daily workings of the APU and focus on proactive crime prevention.

The Black Mambas show us what happens when we support and empower women – not only do these individuals see the benefits themselves, but the benefits are carried back to extended families and communities, supporting countless others and paving the way for more to follow. 🙌
