If you get your 4 stroke stuck you just gotta wait until spring

“You’re not riding hard enough if you’re not getting stuck” AMEN!!!

I ran out of breath watching this. :-)

Getting stuck in the steep while in trees is where it's much more difficult...love to see some tips on that.

Now, can you do the same with a 4 stroke or do you need a crane?

I don't have a sled, don't live near mountains, and still watched the whole thing.

Something my Dad taught us as kids, always carry good rope with us. We always have 1/4" and about 30' of it. Worked great in the Bighorns and Lolo Pass many times. The first thing is to roll the sled part way, or dig to get at the bottom of the track. Then run the rope under the bellypan. Now run it around a steel track clip that the drivers push on (through the holes in the track)and tie it really good. Lay the sled track down again. Now take up the slack and tie the other end of the rope to a tree or a solid object. Start the sled and SLOWLY allow the track to turn and tighten the rope. Slowly giving more throttle will wrap the rope around the track as the sled moves forward under its own power. Once unstuck, carefully remove the rope and save until next time. This is something that's great when you're alone.

everything looks so much easier in light fluffy snow. Most of those Technics dont work in the heavy wet mess up here in the PNW. Good information thanks

im legit watching this vid because i just had to leave my sled over night because i couldnt get it unstuck. legit amateur right here

Good stuff Dan. All my friends in Eastern Oregon say there's 3 phases to mountain riding. 1.) Getting stuck. 2.) Getting Unstuck 3.) Learning how not to get stuck
Unfortunately #3 is far and few between for me at this current time so all the learning provided on getting unstuck is much appreciated. Thanks

Great video! Riding an old Indy classic yesterday I buried it in a tree well. When you can't roll it a shovel is invaluable for both avalanche rescue and digging out a machine that weighs 570 pounds!

If only I would have watched this video before I went sledding last weekend. Would have saved me an hour and a half and humiliation😂 thank you for the informative lessons.

I encourage people to watch your video's! Its so awesome you do these.

Great video! But out of everything you showed us the last part of the video was the end. You absolutely right you cant be afraid of getting stuck. With us if your not stuck you arent pushing yourself hard enough. Great video Dan!

I'm sending this to my riding buddies, they will learn so much. They use their muscle too much and not enough their brain to get unstuck some time lol. Thanks for the tips.

Tree riding nosing into a tree too big to cut down and no body can get to you to help. Tying a rope to a tree up mountian as an anchor and tie the other end to a window in your track you can use track as winch to get your sled off the tree. This works great in really tight steep trees. Great video Dan!

Would love to see a tutorial on neutral stance, specifically how to get on edge, how to carve and change direction

I wish I could give this video 10 thumbs up! I’m a first time rider and I just saw this video. I wish I had seen it before getting stuck for the first time! I just got stuck again today and thanks to this video I was able to get out myself! Thanks for posting these. Now I just need to figure out how to steer. My sled just seems to go where it wants

Earlier "today" I got stuck in a pine tree! Took 30min to get unstuck and 2 ppl. Id like to see a guide on that! Was playing around in the woods and got too close to the huge pine tree, so the snowmobile tipped more than 130° to the side into the tree. Had to lift it up 😁
