I really like the Crafting Parts system, balances out the whole luck factor and lets you choose which Star Card you want to upgrade.

I would rather have no DLC without microtransactions than free content at the expense of microtransactions being shoved down our throat. This trend is getting utterly ridiculous.

As long as there's no weapons exclusive to the supply crates. I'm for it.

I never liked lootcrate systems in any game, and I doubt I'll like it in Battlefront, but I understand that they need to make their money in order to make the Free DLC's. If lootcrate system is something I have to bear with to have Free DLC, then so be it.

3:22 I count 10 hero-slots.

prequels:
Yoda
Maul
Kenobi and Jango because their ships are seen on the concept art.

originals:
Solo
Luke
Vader
Boba

sequels: (only 2 so far because its only one movie out yet.
Rey
Kylo Ren
+ Phasma and Finn added with the first DLC for TLJ

So it seems like we already know all the launch-heroes ? only Kenobi and Jango are not really confirmed. its weird too, because in that case there would not be a balance of ranged and meele heroes for that era

Not to put you down or anything but hearing the exclusive content released to you and then the glowing review of how great a loot crate system is sort of devalues my trust of this channel. Throw in even more Free to play mechanics like daily log in bonus's it's not painting a pretty picture. I always felt those didn't reward you for playing so much as forced you to be chained to the game and log in every day or lose out on a usually pretty hefty bonus. Especially those games that do consecutive days logged in. I understand game companies have to make money, more and more money as it's never enough. That said this is freaking star wars with dozens of movies, books, games etc to draw from. There could of been cosmetic skins for characters, weapons and such for years that people would pay for. Stuff like the black style storm trooper outfit or blind Han Solo fresh from the carbonite. This kind of game breaking boost to fast paced twitch shooter just doesn't work.

Hopefully this doesn't mean this game will be pay to win. Cough cough call of duty...

It could be pay to win since you can just buy a bunch of credits or legendary boxes and get a ton of bonuses like 5% faster cooling time, it may not seem like a lot, but if someone stacks the bonuses up they could become very overpowered. Overwatch is a good example of loot boxes and micro transactions, you can buy credits, but you can only get cosmetics from loot boxes, thus not effecting gameplay. I wish EA did loot boxes this way.

If you look closely you can see that the rarest cards out each crate glows the brightest, while the other ones hardly glow at all, that's cool lol

Yes! This looks significantly better than the loot system in Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect Andromeda! That small detail of the crafting parts means you can partially control your progression, which was a huge frustration in the other two games.

Thanks for the great video! :D

Yes Elliot! I've been looking forward to this!

Seeing idiots commenting how great of a system this is makes me want to jump out a window. Have you never bought a game that didn't require paid DLC to make it a full fun game? Did you ever once just buy a game for X$ and it was great as is? All apologists in the comments including Mr. EABattlefrontUpdates are just making companies like EA more money while making the game itself less fun by encouraging this shitty awful practice to continue.

Seems like the crafting parts will work the same as Battlefield 1's Scraps, then. I'm excited for Battlefront II!!!

I don't understand why people complain that these are like supply drops or hearthstone chests. While yes, they offer SLIGHT advantages, they don't really limit someone who quickly progresses through the game or wants to just play casually. What people are forgetting is that games like COD and Hearthstone don't come with free DLC with this system, and charge for all new content in card/map packs. Saying that this system is worse than using paid DLC costing the price of another game entirely is completely exaggerated because it doesn't split the player base.

But here's the thing. We know star cards are not the only means of progression. There are multiple weapons, weapon mods and maybe even some visual costumizations. That doesnt seem to be in the crates so how do you get those?

Initial thoughts after the first gameplay: Hey, the game not completely suck...
Thoughts after the crate system: And it's hearthstone, so i guess hope for a 3rd title...
