Colonies of barnacles live on whale skin! If you are observant, you can see them moving their tentacles around while when you are petting a whale. You think you know psychedelic? Try staring at barnacle tentacles while petting a whale! This symbiotic relationship is called commensalism. The barnacles achieve a stable place to live, a free ride and plenty of access to food along the whales path. All of this at no biological cost to the whale.
