I played the first MLB The Show game and it's still amazing

the older games just had more character than sports game today. There is just nothing that comes close to this and especially not the arcade games like NFL Street/SSX/Slugfest.

The smoothness of the animations and gameplay was leaps ahead of its time. I liked the Owner / Franchise mode of MVP Baseball, but The Show was always the better gameplay, IMO.

I remember getting MLB 2006 and MLB 06 The Show a few months a part. One had Vlad on the cover and the other had Big Papi. Great soundtracks that I still listen to when I play modern MLB The Show games. The early SDS Show games between 06-08 were phenomenal.

This was the first baseball game I ever owned… I’ve been playing every single one of the show since this. It’s crazy not only how much nostalgia is in this video, but just how different the game was back then… I don’t know if it’s because we were younger, but there’s something about this game that just brings back pure joy and happiness That the newer versions cannot do anymore. The one thing I will say is re-watching this it is evident that MLB the show needs some serious overhaul. Yes it is a fantastic game but year after year playing the same thing over and over what feels really no different things have got to change. Yes it is a baseball game, but since the PlayStation three days everything has felt relatively the same.That is the reason I am loving pro baseball spirits 24 so much is because it’s something different.

werent you also able to set ticket prices and set promotions so you could spend money on a jersey give away and set it to where the first 10, 000 fans got a jersey and youd see actual changes to attendance on those days. not sure why they cant do that in modern games today.
