What's next for Fallout London? | BBC News

It's been over two weeks since Fallout London was released after a turbulent few months since Bethesda's update to Fallout 4.

Team Folon's Dean Carter has returned to catch BBC Newsbeat up on reaction to the game since it went live, how they managed to get John Bercow to do some voice acting, and what the future holds for Fallout London.

Dean also talks about the communication issues with Bethesda which plagued the original release date for the mod.

The BBC has reached out to Bethesda for comment.

I would categorize this as an actual game rather than a mod. Great games deliver a fresh new experience and mods simply enhance those experiences. 50 hours in, having a blast and still haven’t beaten the main story yet. Just brilliant.

Completed it yesterday.
Pros:
- Incredibly well written, catching story
- Much more roleplay than in Fallout 4, a lot of characteristics checks and meaningful choices, experiences is really different with different builds
- Crazy amount of lore and interesting quests
- Beautiful and huge game world
- Cool weapons :)
Cons:
- Extremely poor technical quality. A lot of crashes (that you can reduce amount of by installing some mods)

I'm really amazed and think the mod in it's nowadays condition is a solid 9/10. After constant crashes and game-breaking bugs will be fixed - and i believe it's going to happen soon, first update have been released already - I'm sure Fallout: London will take it's place as one of the greatest Fallout games

You very rarely see this sort of thing, developer interviews etc., with big budget mainstream games from the major games developers, seeing it for a mod is basically unheard of, just goes to show what sort of interest the FOLON team have generated.

Team FOLON used thr COVID period to their full advantage. The fact that this team took only 5 years to develop a mod this big and this good in mere 5 years is nothing less than amazing.

as a Canadian from British Columbia, i would like to thank the BBC for covering this not only from a news perspective, but also from the importance not only from a gamers viewpoint, but the fact that the mod reflects UK culture and geography and i find this exciting to see a new location as to see another take on a favorite game franchise....cheers !

I spent the money to get the GOG version specifically to play this mod.
I already have Fallout 4 on Steam, the reversion process is a bit tricky. GOG was far easier.
Make sure the Fallout 4 highres texture DLC is disabled, it creates a few textures to not load in.
