April is Autism Awareness Month and I am here to share our story. As most of you know, I have a son who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3. I only share this to bring awareness of the condition by sharing our journey, the signs we noticed, and the experiences we went through. I am no Dr., specialist, nor did I attend any type of Special Education courses. This is only what we personally went through. Every case is different so please be respectful when commenting.

My 27 month old is about to have the big test for autism... His pre-screening shows he's high risk... I know deep down, he definitely has it... He's never babbled, he's not talking ( he does this thing called vouling) or making any gestures... He does pace/run all day, hand flapping/wing flapping, hand gesturing, spinning, rocking, head butting and biting...

My son turns 2 in a few days and his story so far sounds exactly like yours! Although my son has always been verbal, his communication and social skills are lacking. We are waiting for the call for his evaluation and I can’t wait for him so start his therapies. Your sons story is so encouraging for me!

I'm so glad you did this video! I have a soon to be 5 year old boy who was diagnosed with autism at 3 and we went thru regional as well when he was 2. I feel like I'm not alone now cause the same thoughts came to my head when I got his diagnosis. He is currently starting to be verbal and is doing soo good with ABA therapy.

I have 2 yr old twins who both just got diagnosed with Autism. It’s been extremely overwhelming as one of my girls also has chronic kidney disease & is on the kidney transplant waiting list. They will be starting aba therapy this month. Your story brings me so much hope. Thank you for sharing 💚💙

I had no idea your son is on the spectrum. My son is too he's 7 and everything you experience with him is the same thing we experience with our son. It's still a process and we're still working through dealing with his behaviors.

My nieces 3 year old was diagnosed with Autism recently. I noticed something was wrong when she was about 7 months. I tried telling her. But she ignored me . She was also 20 years. Old at the time. But baby just got diagnosed recently. I hope she finds help.

My 18 year old daughter just got diagnosed after being misdiagnosed all her life . She didn’t present the typical way . Girls show up differently and they can get missed in diagnosis. My daughter just suddenly started refusing school in middle school . She’d get anxiety and panic attacks over going into school or if we were in a busy mall . We have been struggling her whole entire 18 years trying to figure things out . I just figured I’d add that about girls to since they don’t show always show the same signs so outright . My daughter masked . Autistic masking is a thing . Also my daughter has an above average IQ and just like you said she’d tell me things that even I didn’t know she knew or how she learned that lol . Before the anxiety caused her to refuse school she would win awards as top grades in the school and was beginning to be placed into a gifted program but then anxiety derailed everything.
