A group of women are together at a self-help group. A Christian is there without understanding the assignment. Self-Help wisdom only applies when you're following the current unoffensive cultural trend.

Duh.

Yes, 90 percent of these lines are actual affirmations and from self-help books. Bragging rights to you if you can spot which ones.

This is exactly how I lost my all friends a few years when I was actually saved. Super long story, but I'm grateful that I have freedom in Christ and no longer care about what anyone thinks!!

"I am enough!" says woman who obviously needs Jesus.

As an avowed introvert I want a t-shirt that says "Free Hugs, just kidding, Don't touch me" ! Also, it is wonderful to see someone follow a line of thought to its logical conclusion. You are funny and brave; keep on sister!

As always Melissa another wonderful satire. I love when you do these. Sad but true… I used to focus on some of this junk but I’m nothing but a wretched wicked vile sinner. I’ve offended a just and Holy God. Thank you for this I hope you have a blessed day

She’s really good at this stuff. I think it’s an effective way to get truths across.

Hence why we say progressive liberalism is a circular firing squad. Great job, Melissa!

You know, Melissa, a couple of years ago I would go in and out of seasons where I felt so low, sad and depressed... It was days, and even weeks where I felt empty and without purpose. It seemed like a black pit where there was no hope, nor any light at the end. It was a very dark season for me, I even considered suicide. I tried really hard to step out by myself. I used to listen to music that had encouraging lyrics, the typical song that "uplifts" . I wrote parts of those songs and nailed them on my closet where I could look at them. Songs like "titanium" etc. In my vulnerability and naivety, I thought that music helped. I relied on that music to feel better, to overcome sadness and depression, but I was so blind and deceived, even when I was a Christian, that I didn't realised that that couldn't help me AT ALL. Encouraging phrases, powerful music didn't bring me out of the pit. On the surface those songs and my own will to change seemed enough, but when those dark hours came over me, it didn't mean ANYTHING. They lost all sense, and it only made me feel worse. What I mean is that there's nothing such as "self-whatever" that can help anyone. Jesus the Lord is the only one who you can fully rely on. When I finally decided to understand this, things started to change. I threw away all those meaningless pieces of lyrics, and started relying on the Word. I fully stopped listening to secular music months ago, and I can tell you it does make a difference. Now I only listen to worship music, and put my burdens on the Lord. I don't get depressed anymore. And it wasn't thanks to any self-help. It was because God has sustained me.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (Joh 3:19)

This is funny . . . and all too true. My wife is deeply involved in and deceived by a seeker-sensitive charismatic church that elevates feelings over Scripture and pushes all the feel good non-sense. About 1.5 years ago, she left and filed for divorce. We were having a rough time, but once I realized that, I dove in to work on it, and myself. She went the other way, filing for divorce, claiming God is leading her that way because "God wants His people to be happy." Her other reason is, "Reality has not matched the fantasy in my head." There has been no Biblical accountability around her, but rather everyone (at her "church") wants her to feel happy. I appreciate your videos and I wish more people could see Truth!

😂Yes! I love it! You nailed it. If only every Christian was empowered to walk out the Truth and not be deterred by others judgement.

These just keep getting better! I love the "lioness" reference, and the truth in how all the freedom and empowerment go only as far as agreement with the prevailing ideology. Wonderful! Thank you!

This is why I will never go to secular counseling, read secular "self help" books or follow any of their nonsense.

Spot on and hilarious!
I was taken to some of those meetings with my mom as a little boy and I think their heads would have exploded to hear a woman say those things!
You turned negative memories about bigotry and hatred into something I can smile smile at.
Thank you.

Omgosh! Totally dealing with being judged by others, (not born again) RIGHT NOW! I don't want to care about their thoughts/actions. But for some dumb reason I do... working thru it.
