Play against me, your win rate is guaranteed to increase

Theoretical: Watch this video, get better at the game.
Practical: Forget it all and lose horribly.

The thing I think is worth saying is focus less on winning straight away, but on achieving some goals. For example, focusing on score reliably game to game. It can be even something like 5 points more goal every game, but actually focusing on improving will bring more benefit than just seeing things like win/lose situation. Another goal could be: ok, now I can score points, next game I will focus on point denial if able. Maybe my approach can be sometimes a bit slow and without patience feeling like no improvement at all, but it worked for me.

I appreciate how you’ve addressed concerns of people who want to min/max as well as us normal people who can’t just drop thousands of currency units on the newest hotness

As someone who has done well at tournaments, the thing that helped me the most was asking my opponent if they thought I could have done anything differently or better. Usually they will have noticed something I didn't, and vice versa. Might be harder in a tournament when you're strapped for time, but appreciate Auspex Tactics pointing this out.

What improved my win rate was coming up with an army that fits your game plan and try to execute that same plan every game. You’ll learn how to adapt that same game plan for every mission and you’ll learn how to improve it with every game. You’ll learn how to strengthen and support the weaknesses with small unit changes. Like Auspex said, just lots of practice. :)

I just wanna say that I've been getting back into 40k after about 10 years and your content has been absolutely perfect. Thank you!

Winning is fun and all but nothing beats the thrill of a close match where both sides pull out all the stops. Win or Lose, give me an enjoyable match and I won't complain!

Finding a local RTT helps. It's normally a 1 day tournament with a handful of people. That makes it approachable. It has dramatically improved my knowledge of the game and gave me more motivation to paint my pile of grey shame.

Auspex, more than any other channel I watch, is one that I genuinely hope is a source of fun and enjoyment for the creator, because I certainly get so much out of the content here, and I would hate to be getting so much out of something that someone has to force themselves to do.

I would like to point out an absolute beauty of a blog for this purpose called “Goonhammer”! They have an amazing start competing series (Just google “Goonhammer start competing” and you’ll get an index) that has guides on all aspects of competitive play, including: List building, deployment, math-hammer, tournament prep, General tactics, and more! They’re even sorted by skill level. They also have articles for each individual army. Though they’re not always updated to 9th (all of the marine armies are, not sure about the others) they all have solid information on how the army plays, even if the meta stuff isn’t always accurate.

The Auspex Angel on my shoulder "magnetizing can lead to solid future proofing". The Resin Devil on my other shoulder "PRINT MORE! HAVE ALL THE LOADOUTS!".

Yall I have over 20 Carnifexes and over 30 crisis suits now, it's bad. I just started working on Knights and Moiraxes have 2 arms that each can have 1 of 4 different weapons....I NEED 90 MOIRAXES!

best way to combat "That Guy" is to just ask them to show you the rule if you are ever unsure

Last time I played with my necrons against bolter nuns, I just focused on blasting as mamy of them as I could. Also, I decided that hunting for Morvenn's head will be a good game inside a game xd best fun I had in months. Just stop caring about the points!

"Acquire Knowledge" is a great one to live by. Bet most Grey Knight players don't fully exploit or even know about the Unit of Psykers rule. Can be a great way to either get around smite distance rules or make casts out of line of sight from denying models.
