NOW I realize my problem. Those instructions never said anything about 'releasing' the buttons after you press them all at once, (or at the three dots step beforehand as well). So if you keep pressing them thinking this is necessary for the update to load/work... then you will get an error (unable to verify...), and it won't switch to bluetooth mode. Do exactly as the guy shows in this video and it will work flawlessly.

So you changed it to BT not to use BT in tesla and use USB wire

it shows up as sp something in windows, and even the first step. but second step it wont find it.
