Andor Season 1 Review // The Boring and the Beautiful

It’s the best looking Star Wars story about nothing. We’re talking about Andor, the latest Star Wars series to come out on Disney Plus. For me, I initially liked Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it came out back in 2016. It was a mature and darker story than what’s normally seen in the Star Wars universe. It also stood out with a beautiful cinematic look and of course, legendary scenes that showed off the power of Darth Vader himself and the Death Star. Now Andor is a prequel series leading up to the events of that story, so does it live up to the hype? Well as of right now, no.

Visually, it’s one of the best looking anything to come out of Star Wars in a while. From a cinematography standpoint, the images are beautiful. Season one has some great moments, but for me there’s not quite enough substance. Over the course of 12 episodes, nothing has really happened. There are several sub-plots that I found uninteresting and that I would just cut out.

I'm not a big star wars guy but i watched Andor because of my friends and all the positive buzz. I found it to be mostly boring punctuated by incredible moments of drama and emotion. However I do love how it ended and am looking forward to season 2.

I agree with the endings! But I loved the show, I think season 2 will make it all worth it. Patience, my friend :)
