My favourite pub in York is called the Three Legged Mare and the even had a gallows in the beer garden

I’ve been there a few times over the years. Commands of you across the Knavesmire where there are still racing taking place to this day. Down the road, there was a pen for lost sheep to be gathered as it was public grazing land as well.

In Halifax West Yorkshire they still have a gibbet that cuts people head's off, the story is if you get away to Boothtown across a beak you can be free, not allowed back into Halifax

Near where I live there’s a place called Combe Gibbet that was built in 1676 and of course was used for hanging.
