First! So thankful I am not alone and that Aussies see things the way I do. As an American, my husband and I refuse to force a sentient being to be born. In addition, it is not good for the environment or the child to be born in a world that is so impacted by climate change. Each new baby puts a lot of additional impact on the world. My genetics are not great and do not want a child to suffer with a rare disease like me. Some kids do not want to live, and I truly felt that way (along with severe generalized anxiety and depression + ADHD & Dyslexia) and are bullied so severely it impacts their life. Social media is rotting minds and impacting young and impressionable people to the point they don't know what they like or are interested in bc they look at we everyone else' curated life on social all day (and end up conforming vs being who they truly are). Media is unavoidable and impacts young children negatively from 2 yo onward. Money. It is challenging to live with 2 incomes, let alone 1 as we are now while my husband is unemployed. Stress. My disability (amputee above knee & autoimmune disease causing inflammatory attacks under diagnosis process now) do not give me enough energy to focus on raising a baby/child (it's a second 24/7 job). In d3curity around the globe, possibility of a major economic impact of a possible/likely 2nd trump presidency, removal of rights for women to choose what is best for themselves (removal of a RIGHT IN THE BILL OF RIGHTS OF THE USA - ABORTION - BY THE SUPREME COURT), society, one uppmanship as the defacto corporate attitude that is rewarded and valued (sad as we need all persons), so many kids up for adoption who currently exist and need loving families (I would adopt if I wanted a child for this exact reason), and I just again stress it isn't my right to FORCE another human being to exist. What if they feel like I always did - don't want to be al*ve and simply forced to because they were born?

This generation.... without kids working the fields, how the heck are they going to pay their liege lord?

They literally slap you with a bill just to give birth in the US. A 1, 000 dollars for labor? Nah

These overgrown children playing in costumes don't want children? Who would have thought?

Very idiotic comment surrounding the environment. The world has always had challenges and the next generation solves these issues.
