sounds like a conversation I've had with myself lately... Youtube has throttled down views for everyone apart from the bigger channels. Paul, just keep doing what you're doing... Everyone needs to click the 'thumbs up' button!

Paul!!!! You are literally the best ableton/production channel. The way you even use ableton and your workflow is unique on the platform.

Maybe I am wrong, but I would kill for more techno from scratch videos as there you can see the thought process and workflow the best, not to mention little ableton tricks, etc.

I would be making nothing withou you, please never stop.

And im sure many others will agree with me, love uuuu <3

there aren't that many channels like this, especially about deep techno. Keep up the good work!

Sending you good vibes man, and a small note that I'm experiencing similar feelings, the YouTube analytics are set up to make you feel like you're constantly in decline, push you to maximise these numbers that feel like you're competing with every other entertainment channel out there. It's a lot of existential dread and feeling 'unsafe' as you describe it (very good description IMO) when your livelihood depends on it.

Hi, I want to say a few words! I have been subscribed to you for more than two years and during this time, not a single blogger with similar content has appeared. Your studies are the best and of the highest quality, I constantly use your achievements in my work! Although I don't speak English, I understand the message and have learned a lot thanks to you!!!! Great channel!!! Sorry for the bad English.

Hey Paul! I’ve been studying content creation a lot lately as I plan on diving into creating content myself and one thing I noticed is that people connect easier with more personal content.

For example, this video has just over 600 views at the time of writing this but already has over 100 comments compared to your last video that has over 4000 views but only 15 comments. People can relate to this video more because it’s more personal than what you usually post.

Another thing to keep in mind is that since you mostly make tutorial videos, people are only going to watch when they need to watch it. For example, I’m currently taking a bit of a break from producing music so I don’t feel the need to watch any music production tutorials at this time - whereas as soon as I seen the title of this video, I clicked and watched it because just from the title alone, it right away felt like something I could personally relate to.

So maybe try to sprinkle in some more content like this! It doesn’t have to be entertaining, just relatable. Maybe tell some stories about how you got into content creation as a music producer, or stories about some of your big moments as a music producer or what it was like to work with any big name artists if you have worked with any.

There’s so many ways to make content still related to music that isn’t strictly tutorials. Hope you find your way and thanks for all the hard work you’ve put in over the years!

I watch all your videos, your channel is one of very few channels that bring constant quality videos. Always inspirational and bringing something new to the table. Also, I love your samplepacks. Straight forward quality stuff, I use them all the time in my productions. Keep strong brother and take care!

Following you since the beginning almost - I believe your 3rd video was a rolling bass tutorial which I had requested you do and you made that video.
Back then there was very little techno tutorial ableton channels out there; I noticed the last 3 years there are a ton of channels coming out making very similar content.

Whichever direction you go in life, I want to thank you so much for all the videos and tutorials you have done over the years.

I learned so much from you and truly wish you all the best going forward.

You create one of the best, most interesting and inspirational channels for other producers. It would be a great loss if you stopped recording your content. Keep pushing :D

Whatever decision you make and regardless of the results, your video content and overall intention to help other producers is certainly greatly appreciated, maybe by smaller audience but that does not diminish it in any way. In my opinion you are crucial in shaping and forming slightly more underground scene of new techno producers. Thank you Paul, your work is much appreciated.

Hey Paul, thanks for posting this! Been going through similar thoughts lately with content creation and have to admit that staying true to yourself despite the decline in views is quite a challenge ( but always worth it). YouTube tends to make us creators go down this route of "hype, trend following, audience retention" etc. etc. Yeah it might give us some results for some time but it never really lasts long in my experience because doing something we don't feel aligned with is simply energy draining. Taking a break and focusing on the music, trying out different workflows is what helped me best. With this approach the ideas for YouTube actually started to flow again. If it's something you're questioning: How about trying a mixture of both long form and short form content? Whatever choice you make, you have my support. Thank you for being authentic!

Great video and sorry to hear about the struggles you are going through. I think there is a middle route between the two routes you’ve been outlining: staying true to yourself while still trying new formats in a way you enjoy them. Keep up the great work I’ve learned a lot from you. 💜
