Orthopedic surgeon saved my life from cauda equina gone wrong and somehow performed a successful decompression. I'm able to walk and no lasting paralysis. He came in every day to see me and was good to my family too. When I ended up back in ER with blood clots, lucky me, there he was again before 5am to check on me before anyone else. Spine docs are the best of the best! Thanks for all the great content. Big shout out to Dr. J Landsman too!!

Trauma surgeon should have been on this list. Wide range of knowledge required, people could literally die, and unlike almost every other doctor, their patients might not all come to them being conscious and thus might not be able to communicate in any meaningful way about their injuries. That said, being a Pediatrician would be challenging but being a pediatric oncologist or neonatologist would be MUCH harder for they have l similar patients but you are also confronted with entirely different circumstances and situations, plus the emotional impact of your job will eventually get to you.

As a mother of two children who has used five neurosurgeons between the two of them for TBI, brain stem tumors and epilepsy, I can tell you, I highly value and appreciate brain surgeons!!

30 years working in a vascular surgery clinic; our surgeons work day and night, planned surgeries, emergency and trauma cases. No such thing as a typical day!

Primary medicine/ family practice needs more recognition. Talk about being committed despite incredibly long hours, low pay, low glamour, and complex cases.

Shout out to my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon who made it look like I never had a bilateral mastectomy at all. I still have my nipples and everything lol.

Interesting, but we already know and see how incredibly hard you work and how high your dedication is. Props to the anesthesiologist though. The 2 times I had to have surgery, I made myself very clear to them, "your only job in this theatre is to wake me up". Both times, they said, "I got you".

I work as a nanny and both parents are orthopedic surgeons so I can 100% say they are definitely there first and out last lol

I've known 2 nurse anesthesiologists and I can't stand them personally or professionally. I steer clear of those guys! I don't know if it's the power that attracts the jerks or what.

My husband has Parkinson’s disease and had two DB surgeries but the disease is progressing and he has balance issues. I’m amazed that those two surgeries have given him a better quality of life. He’s also a physician and did rehab medicine with a group of Ortho surgeons.

When I was a young child I got spurred in the face by a rooster. My pediatrician was going to night school for plastic surgery. I got very lucky because of this. My lip was shredded, I had many small stitches. As an adult I have a very small scar on my upper lip. Most people don't even notice it till I point it out. He is forever a rockstar in my books

My son in law is a nurse he worked for five years in ICU after open heart surgery. He then picked up his wife two kids under two so he could do a three year course to become a nurse anesthesiologist. He has two yeàrs left larger towns he won't make as much and will work with anesthesiologist ànd not use all he has learned. If he goes farther out to small towns not only paid more but gets to use everything he has learned sometimes there won't be an anesthesiologist at the hospital just nurse anesthesiologist. Medicine is crazy they deserve every penny

Agree and I’ve taken care of those patients mentioned in ICU excluding peds.
