There *are* some domestic flights that don't involve Athens, including inter-island, and flights that between Thessaloniki and a domestic destination.

Just to know SkyExpress is not a low cost airline! There are not Greek low cost airlines! Both Aegean and SkyExpress are "normal" airlines

When you say the Greek airline industry had been a bit of a mess you mean when Olympic airways was state owned (2009) years ago? But in fairness to Aegean airline it’s a well run company that took over the Olympic name with some great reviews so with them and Sky Express I don’t see Greek Aviation in a mess and that was just a snippy comment.
