Waste not, want not: UK consumers use apps to fight food waste

A third of the food produced globally ends up in the bin, with most waste in the UK happening at the consumer end. With this food waste come economic losses for households and the restaurant industry, but the biggest cost by far is to the environment. A series of apps aim to help users rescue food otherwise destined for the rubbish bin.
