I made the same fold in a tournament this weekend! The guy showed his AAs.

Yeah it looked like AA. Tough spot, good fold.

I’d ask myself “what does he expect me to do?”

He puts you on an overpair. He expects a call. Fold.

If villain is bluffing he also deserves the pot 😅

I was in a similar spot a few weeks ago, and I ended up making the disciplined fold. Turns out the opponent also had QQ 😂 but I still don’t regret the fold and I think the more likely scenario is KK or AA especially since you hold blockers to QQ

I understand the fold but just wondering what card keeps you in the hand on the turn? I guess if I’m convinced he has my QQ beat pre-flop, I don’t contribute after that flop doesn’t offer any way to improve without turning or riveting a set. I can’t imagine him slowing down on the turn unless he’s overplaying TT or JJ and an A or K hits the board.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
The big blind is "first" bet
2nd is the guy who bids 30
3-bet is the 100 for the protagonist
4-bet is the 230.
So the number is just the amount of times the bet increased

where do you play? I need to start playing there if you play like this on the regular

I think if you plan on calling the 4 bet + flop and turn, you probably just want to get it in pre flop .

this is actually exactly why we dont like using big sizes in 4bet+ pots. b25 is the max id go here 200bb deep from villian. against a pot size jam otf you are indifferent with your QQ-. against a small bet we should basically never fold even TT. on a brick turn even here IP should not be pure jamming even at 0.5spr. b20 is the prefferred sizing, again because it allows all overpairs to flick in the call. this size also allows you to bluff and make the max from your few holdings of like ATs and AKo - as you also get to hit your overcard some of the time - and force them to make an indifferent call. even KK here at the end would only make 2% of the pot

Depends on the guys table presence. If he just folds around for an hour until he gets AA or KK and starts firing all barrels, this was probably a good read.

Definitely felt like A’s did he happen to tell or show?

I remember being so mad one time I dark re-raised with KK and had a normal image but villain open folded his QQ leaving me gobsmacked.

Massive props to you because I am definitely not good enough to make the lay down there 😅

Good fold. The poker player in me knows if everyone folds the villain doesn’t show his hand but as a curious viewer of this video I would love to know what he has.

If you bet, you're betting he's practically bluffing.

Very difficult to play vs uncapped range OOP.

What turn bet would you have called, knowing all the $$ going in on the river?

The four bet implies aces. The all in on the turn screams it. I’d fold too.
