The UK plans to cut foreign aid spending by £6 billion to increase funding for defence. These cuts will take UK aid to its lowest level in over 25 years, at a time when global crises are compounding. According to a study by the ONE Campaign, the cuts could result in the deaths of 600,000 people.

We spoke to activists with the ONE Campaign about their study, and what this means at a time when charities are already grappling with the fallout from freezes to USAID funding.

If you're actually bothered by this, you do realise you can still donate your own money... Right?

Or is it that you only care about helping people in other countries when these other people's money that you're spending?

Foreign aid should be voluntary. Someone from the council should come to your house, ask how much you'd want to give in foreign aid and to what causes, with it being completely acceptable to not give any.
