I really like PD's comment on KISSOFLIFE's journey and impact so far since their debut. I think one major thing that sets them apart from a lot of groups in general is how involved they are in their concepts, direction, and music style. You can see this in their behind-the-scenes for album recordings in the studio and for MV filming. Julie mentioned in a podcast (on pH-1's podcast) about how she would present PPTs (slides) on her opinions and vision for their releases. It definitely helps because while they do get to do what's trending, they're also able to include their own ideas and what they like (their personal taste in music). Which makes them always love the music they release!

8:59 Totally true. Their music is different because it shows the difference between being an artist and being a product. Belle is a composer and producer, Julie writes her own raps, Natty does choreos with the dance directors and Haneul plays a bunch of instruments (her mother is the director of a music school). They present their ideas in PPT to the creative team for every comeback and more. They are way more involved in their music than at least 90% of kpop idols if not more, and the result of that is amazing.

Hot girl summer in full force. So cool to see them gaining traction in Korea, they mentioned in interviews they didn't get to promote Bad News as much as they wanted, so it's good to see the public catching on through the end of year awards show performances, Midas Touch, and now Sticky

"Raising standards for K-Pop across the board" (8:59) - a great way to put it and I completely agree. Ever since their award show performances people really started taking notice, and now pretty much everything they release stands out because of how much of the industry got somewhat complacent with just doing a good enough job to get by. They'll need to step up if they want to keep up long term.

Others have already commented on the girls' contributions to their concepts/music/direction which I think is a large part of their success, but I'd also like to add Lee Haein working as their creative director is genius. Her and Natty were contestants on Idol School together and the two of them not making the final group worked out wayyy better for them. The girls get to bounce off their ideas with her, and having a woman who was in the idol industry is perfect. I love the way KIOF came together as a group too! Haein brought Natty and Julie together, who also convinced Belle to become an idol instead of just a songwriter -- and then they all personally chose Haneul out of all the trainees at the company.

Idk if it's just me ( it can't be just me lol), but because "STICKY" is a summer comeback and the song has so much of that easy breezy summery feel that you can't help but listen on loop and really vibe with, it's reminding me so much of SISTAR and how much their songs really dominated because of how their songs had that appeal as well. KIOF is literally taking over as summer queens with this song for sure, like the song ABSOLUTELY👏🏻FUCKING👏🏻SLAPS

I am obsessed with the song, and I think the music video was so fun and perfect for this comeback. The song didn't require a full-on production music video like Midas Touch, and I really enjoyed it and the dance is so fun as well. I also really like how this group seems to have a lot of say in what they do, and they're not afraid to be sexy/seem really comfortable and confident in all the performance and videos out.

I find it that groups that are involved to a song, it makes it feels more authentic, you can feel their involvement. Currently, Red Velvet's latest title track Cosmic, being directed (or co-directed?) by Joy is one of my favorite songs currently.

Yeah, I agree PD. Unless some major mess up happens, I think Kiss of Life is bound to be a defining group in K-Pop. They already are considered as leaders within the 5th generation by many (though Babymonster fans would disagree lol) but I think they are beyond generation labels at this point. Their on a short list of groups that are pushing the industry forward, so I expect people to be saying Kiss of Life's name next to groups like (G)I-DLE.
