"do not buy" in the most clear voice possible

If you're a musician, this mic is one of the best purchases you can make, imo. Off axis rejection is excellent, you can EQ it super easily, and it works on a lot of different sources.

Only that's basically a FLAT frequency response, a lot of other mic's have a roll off on the bass frequencies. It's not really a 'bump' it's more an extension down into the low's. The basic setting's frequency response is relatively flat.

The background music is louder than your voice. Would've been better if it was reversed. And background music without lyrics as that really got in the way. Thanks for the info though!

I went from a mxl v67, sure sm58, Lewitt 440 and now i want a sm7b I love the sound of dynamic microphones, condensers are too detailed in the high end for my voice.

I actually think this microphone is the absolute best microphone for most mid to low range voices. If you have a high pitched voice or you just want something a bit brighter sounding, try out something like the SD-1. The UA microphone comes with hemisphere which can essentially emulate different kinds of microphones and boost certain frequencies. That being said, it still has some limitations in my opinion if you are trying to get a deep vocal sound in the lower range like the Freq spectrum in this video illustrates for the SM7B.

I love how the sm7b sounds on your voice. It sounds super natural! Would you mind sharing tips or the eq you have for similar results

*there are switches on the back for you to alter the frequency response...*

This video has really got me thinking about reconsidering. I was planning on buying this microphone in the near future one day, and I don't want to invest a lot of money into something that's gonna disappoint me in the end. Appreciate you for sharing the info! This is gonna be a very hard decision for me to make.

I tend to have that low pleasing voice people told me about, so i want yo really play to that, i already bought a mic that feels right to me for now, which is the FiFine dynamic mic

This is actually a great original point I've never heard anyone make

If you're serious about audio you may want to just buy it so you don't spend money along the way. You can eq it. You'll probably want one later. You need to have an interface that can drive it though but many options for interfaces on the market are getting enough clean gain these days. Maybe if youre just a hobbyist or arent able to afford to drive it properly at the moment you may want to settle on cheaper options which will still get you amazing clean sound yes.

Only thing stopping me from getting this right now is my budget. I don’t know what you normally sound like, but you sound phenomenal.

“Used by streamers right now”… if you didn’t know, this mic was used on thriller, and James Hetfield exclusively records on them as well

Do not buy? But you're using the same mic😂😂 funny

try bumping the gain, it opens up the headroom of the mic. also depends on what sort of voicing mode your audio interface is on

You talking about the same mic that Michael Jackson recorded the entire thriller album with?

The chances of it fitting your voice vs it not fitting your voice is way greater, so if you want it and NEED it. Just buy it ...

You can EQ the sm7b that’s why it’s frequency respond is flat. I made my sm7b sound like a condenser mic
