Hello everyone and welcome to another cozy reading vlog! This one actually features my first DNF of 2022 👀

I tried, initially, to film this reading vlog weeks ago, but I kept wanting to finish The Lies of Locke Lamora first (or at least get a bit further into the book). However, as you can see from the vlog, that was not a think that ended up happening hahah.

Hope you all enjoy this cozy weekend reading vlog ! Take care everyone 💛

I once heard someone switch DNF to DFN (down for now) and I really enjoy that distinction. I’m a mood reader; Some books I will DNF and know it’s unlikely that I will ever pick them up again. While some books I will put down (for now) knowing I will come back to them eventually 😊

I also struggled reading The Lies of Locke Lamora. I feel you! I pushed through though and finished it because I had heard such good things….but honestly by the end I still didn’t like it and wished I had just DNF’d it. If you don’t like the writing style, it doesn’t get any better by the end, so maybe your instincts to put it down are right! It’s always hard though…

The Lies of Locke Lamora never gripped me either. I DNF’d it. I found myself not caring about the characters at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ can’t win them all

Oh my gosh, 20, 000 leagues under the sea is my favorite classic book! I wish I could reread it for the first time. Reading it feels like diving in the deep sea, no kidding. 😁🥰

That's also why I DNF-ed priory of the orange tree but I plan to read it eventually (it's just quite intimidating and a clear commitment haha)

I DNF'd The Atlas Six. Absolutely hate how the characters were so antagonistic with each other for now apparent reason 😭😆

I struggled with Lies of Locke Lamora as well, DNFd the second book only to go back to it year later and ended up really liking it and kind of loved the third one. Idk maybe a Stockholm syndrome but now I am a fan. However I felt the writing sometimes very depressing and it dragged it down for me. Hard to explain it’s like that ominous energy Yukio Mishima has in his books. Idk if I am making sense…

Even though you had to put the book down, the vlog was still so great to watch. Your reading vlogs are my favourite 😊📖

I think Locke Lamora took me 3 months to read. I put it down at the start too but after I finished it, it became my all-time favourite fantasy book. Scott Lynch is spectacularly good at writing.

Lies of Locke Lamora took me a long time to read as well, I had to switch to audiobook format which helped quite a bit. Atlas Six I DNFd out of boredom haha. Cute vlog!

I highly recommend listening to the audiobook for The Lies of Locke Lamora. It's really good & it allowed me to get through the book much faster/easier than if I had read it physically.
