My cousin James E McMahon of the 2/4 3rd Marines was shot, and killed in Quang Tri, carrying the radio for his Platoons Lt on 6/22/69....this story brought back memories...Thanks so much for sharing. I learned from other Viet Nam vets who served with him that the NVA always targeted the RTO's first (so help couldnt be called in), then the M-60 machine gunner, the Grenadier, and Mortar Men....Thanks be to God these two both made it out safely.
