The 1st time you tried it had too many leaves on it.. it was putting out too much water from the leaves, while it was trying to grow the roots... Next time if you trim off more than 50% of the leaves, it'll route just fine..

I love ficus elastica. I come from the tropics and those plants grow like crazy. My high school had one in its yard that grew over the size of a two story house, like over 25-30 meters tall. What a surprise to discover that years later they also come in the form of fussy potted plants 😂

Im in Florida and there are some beautiful young rubber tree's with amazing limbs with many shapes and sizes near me on a shaded abandoned lot and I was wondering if I could root some of them, but didn't know if it would work but watched this and well now I'm going for it Thanks..❤

I’ve tried with a tineke my dad has in his front yard, took a 3 leaf cutting and put it in some coco coir making sure it was always moist not soggy and it did nothing for about 3 weeks until it just burst with roots super fast it’s a lovely plant and very rewarding!!!

There are 2 ficus that just live in my greenhouse for life now. One is a ficus umbellata that’s in a 4” pot. It’s now 8’ tall and has roots growing out through the bottom of the 4” pot and into the ground through my weed cloth. The other is a ruby, whose pink roots snake through the umbellata’s lower roots. It’s ridiculous. The greenhouse belongs to them and a thaumatophyllum hope that’s rooted through its 5gal pot.
