That’s some damn good machining. Keep making it happen Berry. Great job.

This part is amazing. I know you have been working on it for some time now. This is some great toolpaths. We were never able to do the roughing that y’all are doing especially since we were limited by 6000 rpm. This is beautiful work.

I machine many beautiful aluminum aircraft parts.
This takes my breath away!

That is awesome you can machine this parts. Impellers are very useful.

I know these have to be damn near perfect spec, and I also want to make sure to triple and quad check my tool program setups by multiple people. That aluminum and time is expensive and long. So making sure it's absolute on the first try is a must. This is sexy to watch.

Great job Barry. Did you find that cycle832 helped reduce the cycle time?

Hola Barry tengo una pregunta, los movimientos de desbaste trocoidal moviendo el eje giratorio como lo haces?

Can someone please explain the tool path type at the beginning of the video where utilizing the C axis with the spindle to maximize the SFM? Assuming the code was generated in Master CAM.

You might not believe it but Honeywell in Torrance ca. still uses 1980's Bostomatic 5 axis cnc's to make some turbines made of high temp steels for airline APU's. The trunion has 2 chucks.

This is miles more advanced compared to when I was a CNC programmer using Bridgeport EZ Mill 3 axis software. Very impressive work here. I'd love to see this part made from Titanium.

Did you consider using a insert tool for the roughing operations? For example a 50mm 5-insert mill usually eats aluminium like crazy. Or is the KOR achieving higher MRR? Just curious, still a very cool part!

I'd like to know how many hours Barry spent working on the CAM for this part and how many hours of machine time it took in can't imagine how many lines of Gcode there must be...yikes.

How many hours did it take to machine this part?

Is aluminum the final material? Is this just to prove out the program?

Is there gonna be a video on programing as well?

Where is the video on how you programmed this?

You should add a running comment in description about estimated part weight between stock - roughed and then finished
