I like the SNES and GBA.

Two things the GBC remake should've carried over to the GBA remake:
1. the extended Winky's Walkway
2. Necky Nutmare (maybe, I don't know, what do you guys think?)

I do like the soundtrack and sound design in the GBA version a lot.

I really didn't mind the change in the color scheme.

But the thing where I think the GBA version really falls flat its in the sprite quality.

Since the GBA version has to run at a lower resolution than the SNES version as a result of the small screen they had to shrink the sprites losing a lot of details in the process.
And it also seems like characters have less frames of animation as well.

The Gameboy Advance music sounds completely different from SNES. I actually prefer the Original Gameboy Color music more in some places.

To those rightfully shitting on the GBA's fruity color palette, remember that the OG GBA didn't have a backlight.

Its still hard to look at even with that considered.

They need to make a version of DKC with all of the stages and features from all of the different versions, including DKL. Same goes for 2 and 3. A version of DKC3 with both soundtracks would be amazing.

SNES looks best, hands down.

I really admire how they went about making the GBA ports (not just the first DKC). Instead of making the player deal with screen crunch, they merely shrunk everything until the GBA version had the same vertical field of view as the SNES original. This had the welcome side effect of giving the player a wider horizontal field of view than on SNES. However, I don't like how washed out it looks, despite understanding why they did it.

The GBC version is commendable for the hardware, but now little more than a footnote of gaming history. It was built on the Donkey Kong Land engine, which meant wonky physics that force the player to relearn how to play the game and makes some stages far more difficult than in the original.

The ports were serviceable for their time, but now there's no point in going back to them.

SNES is the source material. The GBA is the best remake, Period. Most of the animations are in tact which is remarkable for a portable form factor. Being able to play many Nintendo 1st party titles on the go, with their own bonus features puts some of these SNES to GBA ports in the DX category if I'm being honest.
