Kara Tjernlund - Tony Leech Award

Kara decided to take control of her life and began her person-centered planning journey with Achieva. She's taken advantage of every opportunity to build her self-advocacy skills. She's a member of Achieva's Empowered Voices Leadership Group for several years now and has taken the responsibility of creating and providing presentations to the group on what is important to her.

Kara's determination, along with her self-advocacy skills, have earned her this year's Tony Leach Award, and with this honor she will also receive a check for $1,000 in memory of Tony Leach.
