Bring up the 9th Symphony and everyone always jumps to the Ode to Joy. Yes, it's amazing, but this movement is the one that I find myself listening to over and over again. Non-stop driving energy. Don't get me wrong, I love the Ode to Joy, too. But, this one, to me, is an underappreciated masterpiece.

It is only a guess, but I think Beethoven is in heaven with a big grin on his face. I have heard this movement performed by many orchestras and conductors over the decades, but I have an idea that this one will be the one by which all others will be measured. This is superbly performed at a tempo that is breath-taking. My congratulations to all involved. I will be tracking down the recording and will be making a purchase.

I've always loved how this movement is just pure unadulterated lighthearted fun. Not every symphony needs to have a serious, dark or emotive sound to be a classic.

This conductor is working so very hard keeping his group together. You can see little pearls of sweat on his face. Out of a little reed instrument, beautiful music evolves. My dear Beethoven, you have created wonderful heavenly music.

As close to perfection as anything I shall ever hear. The tempo, the balance, the timbre of the individual sections . . . masterful. Thank you! for your service to music.

It's is like listening to an entire symphony in one movement. And the conductor is moving things right along with a rapid pace.

This is my favorite part of the 9th. Loved it since I first heard it at 15 when I was singing with a symphony, waiting for Ode to Joy.

I don't want to seem pretentious or sentimental or to quick to leap to superlatives but in this beethoven seemed to have glimpsed something godly or antigodly. I have loved many pieces of music but this just sets my brain on fire with all that is dazzling, triumphant, stellar, victorious.

Correct! The 2nd movement is an under appreciated masterpiece… both the A section & the B Section are profoundly original & spectacular

Cuando se estrenó la Novena Sinfonía en Viena, el público hizo repetir el trío de este Scherzo (Allegro Vivace). La gente quedó alucinando mientras aplaudía y el director repitió desde 13:34.

The conductor is SUPERB. I like the tempo also. Not too fast, not to slow. Stunning dynamics. Bravo to to all participants!
