fun fact: before minecraft bedrock, way back around late beta/early release there was minecraft windows 10 edition which waa given to free for java players. said players were given bedrock for free when windows 10 edition was deprecated and replaced with bedrock.

tldr i got the vanilla cape without paying for bedrock because im that OG of a player

I remember claiming the windows 10 edition for free whilst it was still in beta (if you already owned have edition). Now I have this cape.

Ive brought mc multiple times and knew id be getting the cape. I had completely forgotten about it though, until i watched this today, and decided to check, and there it was! Its a nice cape design with the grass block representing Java, and Bedrock obviously representing Bedrock edition.

Fun fact : When Minecraft Windows 10 edition was published, mojang gave gift code to Java players and everyone could get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free. So we got this cape even though we didn't paid for both versions.

I remember when they announced the change, I almost bought bedrock because I knew there must be something comming for those who own both already. Did not end up doing it and regret it. (The cape was announced way after) However it was only given to owners of both up to some date so I dont know if it would have worked..

There is another way, but most people wouldn't think it could qualify. If you had an account and were signed up for the beta - Project: bedrock, you'd also have the cape. Realized I had one after I was in and checked if my migration cape actually was there.
