I predict that Sayaka would become a defender with self heal ability.

Beaten main story without getting stuck once with the team: iroha, Madoka, homura, ren, and tsuruno. The pink hair duo tears through breaks for the most part and sustains resources like HP and SP. Ren constantly lowers defense throughout the battle. Once broken, use Madokas ult to charge everyone, then use Ren, Tsurno ult to buff and debuff and watch homura murder.

level 83 and pictura 57 here. there are also bosses down the road in battler and nightmare that have mechanics dependent upon exact character abilities.

uwasa in battler mode is either tanky af unless the boss has an ailment on it. this means the fight will last forever even with a strong single target team. that means we need to put a dot on the boss. not a debuff like defense down. otherwise bring a healer to outlast the boss as a shielder will not do.

in nightmare there is a boss that uses dots, also easier with healer that removes ailments.

note to past self: build 4star lynx impact instead of 5 star folter gefangnis. so far defender does not seem great. its not like it actually draws aggro and alot of boss damage bypasses the shield altogether.

edit: after posting this, back to pushing nightmare mode, i cannot stress enough how much i wish i built lynx for heals and ailment removal as opposed to folter. dots dots dots. folter is just not bringing enough to the table at the moment, hope this changes. so far in the non-dot content a healer would do the same, so why bother with a defender?

In the story mode, you only need a debuffer instead of healer to beat Mermaid witch. Felicia did so much for me without a good dmg dealer with a team of 3 breakers (2 madokas, Iroha) and Kirika. I managed to end it 20mins before going back to work during my break 😂. Felicia's stun and speed debuff helped me out a lot through the story bosses until I got Homura later

The mermaid witch gimmick was so annoying, it's so funny because the boss after that is so much easier. Imo this game is alright but the lack of f2p currency is concerning.

Midgame, just spam 3 breakers, 1 buffer or debuffer with one attacker. Mermaid witch just melted. %800 break makes your attackers skill attacks like 40k damage. 4 star Ahley is also an underrated good breaker

We NEED a 5* healer 😢

Also my main team is just Sana, oriko, yui, Mami and madoka. I keep them MAXED out as much as I can. I'm gonna try and Iroha caught up since the video says Iroha is a better breaker. Let's hope 🤷

My predictions

Sayaka - Defender with team HP recovery buff at start of turn + dispel debuffs

Kyouko - Debuffer with AoE ailments (potentially Stun at lower % than Felicia) and debuff that increases break effect and damage dealt

Nagisa - Healer that can wipe enemy buffs (bc she's Mami's hard counter and we need a 5* with Ayame's ability) and increase resistance to ailments (bc cheese)

5:30 Riko's skill also adds %15krit to the team. So is her big attack. You can add her to your team

level 85, puella picture 60 here!

you don't necessarily NEED a healer, u just need a debuffer tbh. my team is homura, iroha, felicia, oriko and tsuruno and this team has gotten me through a lot 😭

but if u dont have either a 5* debuffer or buffer, a healer / defender is necessary.

Man, that Oktavia fight was hella annoying. Gotta keep stalling using Reira heal while double Madoka chips away the break gauge bit by bit before nuking the boss with Masara ult. Ren also helped a bit with her debuffs.

Don't know how long it took, it also took me multiple attempts before succeeding.

My team is Yui, Iroha (5* breaker), Lux Madoka, Seika (4* breaker), and Kush (4* attacker), and I feel like they’re beating everyone up pretty well. Yui/Madoka/Kush’s ability to hit multiple targets makes it much easier to take them down quickly, and Yui’s buffing talent is no joke.
I’ve been leveling up their magic and pairing them with good portraits as well. I’m happy with my progress.

I’m only level 30, though 😅. All this talk about “nightmare mode” and “battler mode” is making me nervous lol.

Essentially what Im doing is playing it similar to a few gachas with similar mechanics (FFBE break and then R1999 extra actions)
Team i run alot is Madoka(f2p) Madoka (banner), Homura, Rika Ayano (4*), Ren Isuzu (5*), and occassionally was running Ashley (4*) before.

The main goal I go for is trying to stack all their extra actions and MP acceleration to turbo stack break multipliers. Madoka F2P gets an Extra Action after allies perform 5 actions, Homura gets one when an enemy Breaks, Isuzu gets one after an ally attacks a wounded enemy as well as her ultimate amplifying damage for the turn. The star since day one was Rika's 4*, her ability gives an ally 21% MP, which can help banner Madoka turbo to her ultimate which gives the other girls MP to turbo into their own ultimates faster alongside more Rika buffs. She has a great passive 20% buff as well she can stack by doing her buff and then ultimate. I used 4* Ashley prior to pulling Isuzu from the 7th day login bonus, she wasn't hitting hard but the AOE Extra attack was essentially the same idea, at points you'll have 3 extra actions going off which really help get chip damage in and action positive passive benefits. Ive got Felicia 5* on the sidelines but most times it didnt feel worth it to stun the enemy or the enemy was immune, so it felt more worthwhile to try to break than stall.

Very happy and loving the game overall though, it reminds me of experiences like Octopath and Tribe Nine where you invest in whoever you own and get to enjoy it like a normal game with a different experience than others. Trying hard to get Mami cause I want the quintet and then Ill save until they do a celebration for Rebellion likely.

ive ended up using 2 teams, one for bosses and one for general enemies. though at first it was yachiyo, sana, ashley, madoka, kush (yachiyo would shred through enemies
boss team: yachiyo, kirika, tsuruno, ashley taylor, iroha
splash team: oriko, kirika, tsuruno, ashley, lux madoka
i think id swap tsuruno for mami in the splash team when i pull her, and if i get pluvia madoka id swap ashley with her (although the follow-up atk is busted for a 4*)

When the game is actually good people talk about the game in the comment section instead of cc drama or idk global passive drama.

a bit of a heads up alot of the later bosses have gimmicks that kind of forces you to complelty redo your team. one of them stright up dispels defenders sheilds, one block 99% of damage from x amount of hits meaning oriko's multi attack has use ect. as long as your using your currancy to buy the orbs from shop you should be good. you can't farm those and they gate keep progression

Didn’t have any trouble with the mermaid witch. I’m stuck on the birdcage in battler mode. It just two shots my team.
