Pine Tree Time-lapse 300 Days

Last Christmas they sold these stone pine cones in the supermarket so I bought one to try to see if i could grow something from the seeds. And it turned out to be one of my favorites this year. Definitely keeping this one going for longer so there will most likely be an update video coming end of next year.

"The stone pine, botanical name Pinus pinea, also known as the Italian stone pine, Mediterranean stone pine, umbrella pine and parasol pine, is a tree from the pine family (Pinaceae). The tree is native to the Mediterranean region, occurring in Southern Europe and the Levant. The species was introduced into North Africa millennia ago, and is also naturalized in the Canary Islands, South Africa and New South Wales."

Technically, if you're diligent enough, you could plant a Christmas three in your back garden 3 years in advance so you can get a free tree every Christmas

Love it! No annoying intros & outros, no "please like & subscribe", no timelapse in reverse at the end to stretch watchtime, just the pure video like in the old days of YouTube!

I love how well this soaring music goes with a seemingly simple time-lapse of a pine tree growing. Truly, a miracle of nature.

0:55 I love how the seedling opening up matches to the dramatic sound in the background.

As an engineer and a chemist, there is nothing more fascinating to me than the simplicity and beauty of a seed.😊

I actually brought a pine cone home from the American cemetery near the coast not far from Rome when I got home it fell out of my luggage and a few seeds popped out . Went on YouTube & learned how to grow it
To my amazement it grew and. And is my prized possession.

This was almost overwhelming. The miracle of life is a slow process. This was so fast that it made me feel anxious. With that being said, it was a fascinating video. Thank you

Whoa! That music corresponds so well when the seed falls & the leaves bloom; it gives such a chill!

I always just assumed pine cones on the ground that hadn't opened weren't ever going to open. Thanks for showing me that was a bad assumption. That's a cute lil tree.

Still, a pine tree takes a long time to grow, but I like how it grows from a small plant into a whole large tree

we live on the edge of a wild fire burn area, from a fire that swept through here in 2002. The fire killed most the pines. After 21yrs, we see the pine trees growing back. The biggest being about 6-8'. Of course, they did not sprout for a few years after the fire. So that is after 18-20yrs of growth.

the Apsen, on the other hand have taken over. Where there were none, there are now huge groves of Aspen, 25' tall, some about 3-5" in diameter. The elk love to hide in these groves, which are prominent in the draws between the spines of a hill. Also b/c water generally travels these draws allowing the aspen to proliferate.
