The RF-603 N1 comes with the correct Nikon shutter release cable. It plugs in on the front of the camera, there is a little white dot by the port's rubber cap.

Search for the proper RF-603 trigger/receiver for your camera model, all trigger may be the same as model but the cable for the remote shutter release may vary for camera model

They are Flashpoint 620m monolights. I don't use a speedlight on the camera, just the built in flash. I did a teardown of the flashpoint monolight, look for it in my video channel. Thanks!

You are correct, it does not tighten to the hotshoe. It is a tight fit, but I wouldn't use this with a heavy (or expensive) flash on the camera

I use these at 1/125, and that's limited more by my Flashpoint monolights than this trigger. I don't have a speedlight to test with. A quick search of the Amazon reviews show that they work at 1/200 on the D800 and 1/250 on a D7000. I'm not sure why there would be a difference in the two cameras. I was really looking for a cheap shutter release, and was surprised to find these triggers for about $35 a pair. The fact that they trigger monolights was a sweet bonus!

Thanks for the "first hand" info! I figure that the reported difference in the D800 and D7000 speed might be due to the size of the shutter. The D7000 is a great camera, I almost regret selling mine to get the D800. I wish I could afford both :)

I have the D7000 and it works at 1/200 at 1/250 there is a black line at bottom.

I have a question.. is the TX in your hand triggering the shutter release and the flash or is the TX triggering the shutter release and unit on the camera trigging the flash?

Looking into this trigger and what worries me is it does not tighten to hotshoe? What about the weight of the external flash on camera. Couldnt it slip out of the cameras hot shoe? Thanks

I too use the Flashpoint strobes with my D7100. What is the cable used to trigger the flash. I know there is a shutter release cable included but doesn't work to fire the strobe corrrect? I am looking for that cable

Can this remote shutter also work for video? There are many times when I'm recording video on my d800 but it only allows 20min segments so normally I have to manually press record again to continue to record another segment. With this shutter I wonder if it will allow me to record again without the need to physically hit the record button. Thanks for your time!

Hey, thanks for the video. I just have one question, where the cable plugged in on the camera?? In the sync cable port?? Thanks again.

I've got a D7100 and 4 x SB-700. I cannot get these triggers to work at all. I've tried the speedlights in M, TTL, remote, Master....nothing works. All are on channel 1. Camera is set to group A, channel 1. They are supposed to be compatible but for the life of me I have no luck getting them to work.

I see you have been asked whee do you plug the trigger cable into d800e, but i cant see a reply? I note that the sockets on the 800e are not the same as my old 7100. what is the part number of the cable you are using?

Are you using a D800 specific shutter release cable or the generic one that came with the trigger? I can't seem to hook it up with my D800. Thanx
