The Plot Thickens

The tides are closer, drawing in the crowd
They march on in to drown
Debtors keep watch. These people never questioned
The lies that lead them to their graves.

So much suffering to which we must comply.
Whatever that resides in that dark and murky water
Does not have our best interest in mind.

Something calls to me that I wish not to give in to.
Those waters infested, yet somehow I’m still drawn near it.
This cursed lake has quite the spell on me.

There’s something up down there.
The water is trying to pull me in.
