Tallest Mountain in the world

When you think of Mount Everest, you probably think that it's the tallest mountain in the world. But there is a taller one, its called Mauna Kea, located in the US state of Hawaii.

By this logic I can say that the base of Mr. Everest is the bottom of the Indian Ocean.

Everest is still taller because 1. technically Mauna kea is a island so it doesn't count. 2. your counting from below the sea level so you should count everest from below the sea level and its not fair. so Mt. Everest is still taller
