Apples are perfectly fine to eat with braces as long as you cut them up. My kids eat everything with braces, just cut up! And I work in orthodontics.

Lemme say this, as somebody who wore braces, I was pretty much able to eat anything, I chewed gum, for Christ's sake. But apples, goddammit those guys were a hassle, they never broke anything, but having to pick out the skin from the braces was hell.
