I think I saw in another one of your videos that you or a reader mentioned that a BMW extended warranty or Certified Pre-Owned plan called for oil changes every 15, 000 miles! That is astoundingly bad. If I were to change the oil every 5, 000 miles, would that make a significant improvement with some of the issues like oil leaks and valve cover problems? (Of course, if you replace the filter every 5K, you won't run into the filter disintegration issue you cited.)

Great Review... I am on my 5th Toyota 4Runner.. Over a million miles spread across them without ANY...ANY repairs or issues...Now Im Lusting over a 2019 X6M V8...Sounds like I Should keep a 4Runner around so that I can enjoy my gorgeous BMW "Project-Car" when its in the shop or my garage in pieces...Like a stunning woman consistently flying apart... Worth it??? : )

We have an X5 diesel. first thing we did was a DPF delete. OMG what a difference in reliability and performance. were getting 100 more HP with the DPF delete than without it. and there's no more emissions crapola to deal with😁

Modern BMW SUV's. Fantastic vehicles to lease/own up to the 4 year/80k maint free limit. I'd be weary after the free maint is over and you don't wrench on your own. Lease takeover is also a great option on these.

2018 X1 here, no issues at 60k. Will be returning when lease is over, looking for something larger. Overall great little vehicle. That white X5d looks sharp.
