I used to have a CD with a complete collection of Glen Gould's interpretation of Bach's Keyboard Concertos in my old car. No traffic jam could derail my internal peace when I was with Bach and Gould.

This concert sounds like turning 35 years to me. There’s the quiet tragedy of the final fact of growing up, reaching the middle of life, and at the same time desire for hope, because somehow one needs to live on (as mothers and grandmothers and all the other people on the planet did) and learn to enjoy not only pleasures of being young. I’m writing here because there’s no one else and nowhere else I can say this.

This is the most beautiful piece I ever listen for last 60 years.

Is there such a thing as divine perfection? Yes. In Gould we trust!

I am crying 😭 2nd part is just pure magic.

Sometimes I just can’t believe that Bach lived and composed 300 years back and centuries later Gould just walks in, sits in a chair and plays it all note to note perfect

Growing up I would hear my grandmother play her piano and after a couple of hours she would cap her sessions with the Largo movement from this concerto. I would turned up from behind the curtains very quietly not to break the spell which I found so moving and more than once brought tears of emotion. Glenn Gould plays this piece to perfection and it reminds me of my grandmother's version. She passed away many years ago, probably at the time this recording was released, but she would have loved hearing Glenn Gould's interpretation. Thank you for posting.

"Bach made me a musician" -- Glenn Gould.
The whole point about Gould playing Bach is that he was born to play Bach.

Sampson had his hair, Thor his hammer, and Neptune his trident. And Gould has his chair.

I can never listen to GG’s performance as background music. I just get drawn to it and have to stop there and listen to every note.

The slow movement is....well...I can’t even find words for it.

Bach is my religion,
Glenn Gould is my god.

There is one problem with Glenn Gould’s Bach performance; when you listen to it you cannot enjoy any other performance.

Indeed the best pianist for Bach in my humble opinion

I thought perfection was just an illusion...
Listening to this, is like flowing in the sacred geometry of nature with every single sense ...

For decades I listened to his Well tempered Klavier as the best piano recording, talking about the early 70s, can not accept any other..

Господи!!... нет таких слов в моем скромном запасе, чтобы выразить ими эмоции от прослушивания.
