One Year Time-lapse of a Durian Tree

I tried my best but the plant was struggling.
I'm keeping this one going and making it 2 year time-lapse but I would really need some tips for what to do to make it grow better and stop dropping leaves.

As a person who lives in the country of durian, i can say that the seed does not need an incubation period of 21 days in the moist vacuum bag. Just place them in the soil and water them regularly so that it will not have a stunted growth. By day 7-10 the first leaf should be seen already. A healthy 1 year old durian tree should be around 2 feet tall. By the 5th or 6th year, it can already produce fruit.
Anyways, i always find your time lapse videos soothing to watch. Keep up the great work 👍🏼

How any tree seedling manages to survive long enough to grow into an actual tree in the wild absolutely baffles me when you see the struggle they experience to grow just a few leaves during the first year.

The soil looks very humus like, but they usually prefer a more sandy and loamy mixture. However, they should be doing great in your setup too. If you can water with rain water.

I would drown it in water and then let the soil almost dry out completely in between watering, and if you water it, drown it again. Increase the light intensity so that it would simulate direct sunlight (Also, some plants are independent on a day-night cycle). Maybe you can come up with a setup that allows the plant to rest during the night while still be able to maintain good footage (a short duration flash during the recording of a frame for example).

The Durian is considered Ultra Tropical. It needs high humidity and full light to thrive. A highly enriched soil mix and a humidifier and your plant would have faired better 😊

Not durian related but apple, I bought a Washington red apple from my Local mart for 25 cent and left it in my fridge week ago. Turn out the Seed inside the apple (8 total) have started to sprout mini root, I asked my professor about it and he said "The inside of the apple is moisture enough for a Seed to start sprout, and a Cold temperature from a Fridge help germinate them too"
