I think this video with Emma should have been called FTP "Sweetie" Spot Training. She seems like a genuinely kind person. Thanks for the video!

Riding into a headwind, up a slight hill, trying to hold a reasonable speed is sweet spot, so it seems all my rides are at sweet spot

Ah another video where Emma goes full gas! Yikes! Great video once again and thanks for some really helpful videos of how to fit in some good hard training whilst your going about your commute to work. I would be interested to see how Emma plans the different sessions in during her week and if she has a set 1/2 weeks schedule. Loving the series and I hope this all pays of for Emma!

My commute per day is unfortunately only about 55 minutes long and most of the time I ride flat out... I'm the guy who accelerate out of the roundabouts and passes the cars while sprinting.

My experience, however, is that despite all the training I do not notice any improvement at all. So it's nothing but fun.

I can’t sprint with my saddle bag wiggling like Emma’s. 👍🏻🇵🇭🇵🇭🚴🏼‍♂️

Hi Emma, loving the series but can I beg for one additional vid on how to maintain bike fitness without a bike. I am spending 2 months travelling without a bike before spending the following two months cycling in France. All advice welcome
Cheers Paul

I have doubts regarding what do you do when u get to work? you have a locker where you store your things or you take them with you in your saddle bag?

So.. basically my commute in London, just with some more effort. Traffic lights help too! Good to know I'm doing something right :)

This basically sounds like my (urban) commute when I'm late for work

Question to GCN: was the video made after Emma got bike fit or before? I suspect - after. (Pressed "like": telling it just in case if the rest of the message deemed as grumpy.)

Advise to commuters: with all the GCN tips being usefull, most of the commute time is better to be spent in those 80% frame for 80/20 (aka polarized) training paradigm. In addition to getting above your performance plateau, you'll be arriving to your destination safely, nice, clean and fit to work (or to home dinner perparation). Yes, bike commute is the perfect opportunity for recovery rides.

75 to 85% of MHR is close to the MAF heart rate or zone 2 and the lower end of zone 3. If we don't do the sprints, can we do it everyday?

Hello Emma! I have noticed tha you wear prescription glasses. What is your solution for cycling eyewear? Do you use prescription clip-ons (like I do), contact lenses or other solution. Could you comment on that?

#Torqueback Since there are traffic lights to stop for, how would it affect the quality of the training?

How do you calculate 75% of max heart rate?
MHR * .75
OR
(MHR - Resting HR) *
75.
THANKS.
