In this video, I take a tour of Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan! Solo travelling in Tajikistan was so fun, and in this video, I meet some lovely locals and spend time enjoying this peaceful city. It felt like such a change of pace after a short stay in Uzbekistan, but I can't wait to travel North in next week's video through the Tajik mountains!

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveller and YouTube creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveller, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.

My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher—my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on YouTube, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.

Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on YouTube.

I am from Bangladesh. I am very happy to watch your video on Tajikistan. It is really a very beautiful country. God as if has decorated it on his own hand. The parks, roads, buildings specially its architecture has astonished me. It is truly a heaven. People are shy and modest and helpful. God bless Tajikistan.

I have just watched this YT video about Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe. Where i spent a few days more than 40 yrs ago - then during the Soviet era.
Undoubtlly this YT feature revealed a Dushanbe more inviting and glamorous these days. All the cars in the streets not only Soviet produced Volga and Moskowitch, but far more like western world-products.
If I ever could re-experienced a stay right there... .

I am Kurdish from Kurdistan Region that is part of Iraq now, watching Tajikistan reminds me so much of Kurdistan, so much in common, from language to flag, to costumes and culture and especially nature resembles a-lot to Kurdistan.?
By the way, dushembe is also Kurdish too for monday….

What a beautiful City where the traditional succeeds as modern we here in the west have a lot to learn about a quality rather than a quantity lifestyle. Enjoy your travels but always be safe

Thank you for showing us around in the beautiful city of Dushanbe. I sort of knew Tajikistan was beautiful but had no clear idea of specific places, so I loved watching this. 😻

Also, I kind of relate to what you said about some fears or uncomfortable feelings that one may get when older. When I was in Iran, where I had one of my most fantastic travel experiences ever, l remember entering the Grand Bazaar in Tehran, a bazaar that is so gigantic and was so busy but at the same time so fascinating and I wanted nothing more than to see all of it (which is practically impossible I reckon). But the further I got into this incredible maze of the bazaar and the further I got away from seeing the entrances, the more this conflicted and claustrophobic feeling arose that I was getting lost and needed to get out. I tried to ignore the feeling because I was so smitten by everything inside of the bazaar, but then the uncomfortable took over and I got outside through the first exit that I found.

Another similar “fear” I experienced in Guajimico, Cuba. I used to be able to swim without any fear in deep waters and all that, but when I was in Guajimico, you had this amazingly blue waters that was kind of wild and so beautiful. However, there were no beaches there so you kind of had to jump off rough stone edges to get into the water. Which I did, because I thought: I can swim and my friends were already in the water so why not? The moment I got into the wild but beautiful blue water, I was instantly afraid that I would somehow drown. So I started breathing heavily and said to my friends: I need to get out now. They helped me get to the side so I could climb up those sharp stone edges and was so flabbergasted why I felt that way.

This also makes me suspect that I might be developing more “fears” as I get older. Feelings that I don’t think I experienced before. 🫣

Anyway, can’t wait to watch your next video! 😊
