Starship Full Stack Proof Tested - But Then SpaceX Destacked It | Starship Update (Narrated)

The full stack of Booster 4 and Ship 20 was subjected to cryogenic proof and propellant load testing, but then Ship 20 was destacked. The fate of B4 and S20 is unclear as Booster 7 appears nearly ready to roll to the launch site for its own test campaign.

Deimos left Brownsville for Pascagoula, a forward flap from SN8 was put on display at Brownsville Airport, and various design changes to both Ship and Booster are spotted at the Production Site.

Elon just confirmed on Twitter that first orbital flight will be with raptor 2. This means booster 4 cannot be the first flight booster since it’s only capable of raptor 1. Ship 20 won’t fly either, since it isn’t capable of mating to the newer boosters or having R2s.

The booster venting was a test of the new pneumatic, reaction control system. Elon spoke about this change during Tim Dods site tour with Elon.

After a few days on vacation with limited internet access, this is the perfect summary to be up to date!

Am I the only one that wants to head over to the Brownsville airport with a can of paint for that pole? :D

Y’know, that flap at the airport would best be put INSIDE the terminal (as long as its the only ‘memento’ at the moment there); and with a non-weatherproof display video of SN-8’s, er, exciting (!) flight, with the piece circled in red, so people passing by feel an immediate connection to SpaceX and what is happening out there. Would be fantastic PR.

Fantastic video and commentary as always!

I don’t see what’s so confusing about them destacking it. Obviously they can and should continue to test every step of stage zero, even if the booster and ship never fly.

I've worked with stainless steel, mainly 304 and 316. I can only admire the flawless, magnificent, detailed, clean work at 4:28 onwards.

Thank you Ian for the updates on Space X, I hope they use Starship 20 and booster 4, otherwise it would be a sad day for it to be removed and planted in the Rocket Garden as an garden ornaments.

Yeah I kind of agree with you I believe this is probably the last hurray hurray for B4 and D20. I think their next step is going to be going to the static display AKA The rocket garden

Would be cool if they put in a bridge between the wide and high bays

It feels not that long ago when a 150m hop was a big thing

They may have had to bring it back down because they have tiles to replace and the lifting points are still in place on the nosecone?
