The humbleness of Paul McCartney is amazing.
When Corden tells Paul that he "teared up" singing with him, McCartney replies, "that's the power of music", instead of saying that it had to do with singing with him.

People in the UK say Paul McCartney is a national treasure. No, he is a treasure of humanity. It's like Bach, Beethoven and Mozart all in one person....and still alive.

"If my grandad was here, he'd get a real kick out of this."

"He is. :)"

People will talk about the Beatles 100 years from now. That's the power that they had. No one before or after will have the impact the Beatles did. They made more good music in six years than most bands try to do in a lifetime.

I love how deep and sensible James is whilst being so raw and transparent about his emotions..

Great interview. Great emotions from James. I almost teared up just listening.

I cannot comprehend how he's never heard the story of Let It Be. It's like Paul's version of saying Hello

Paul McCartney is a living legend for sure. And he is humble. He has talked about how Paul McCartney the legend is not who he feels he is as a person. Because of course he is just a person living his life. But his legend is bigger than him, because it lives in all our lives as well. Paul was right, it is the power of music. I think music is maybe the most powerful art form.

I saw Paul McCartney perform at Dodger Stadium in LA in July 2019, the day after my 26th birthday. I met up with a friend before the concert and I said to him and his wife "I can feel something special tonight; I think Ringo is going to perform with him tonight." He played a great set that spanned his entire career, and then in the encore, he brings on Ringo. Ringo and Paul have only gathered 11 times to play together since the Beatles broke up. I began to cry, because I was able to see half of the Beatles reform. The Beatles were only together in the public eye for 7-8 years and stopped gigging in '66. The Beatles have generations of fans who weren't able to see them live, but I was able to see half of the group perform. It made my lifetime.

That episode with Paul was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen on tv. Paul in his old house in the very room they used to write and play in. Especially since he had never been back since he 60s. Absolutely the best!

I thought the same thing the first time I watched it. Truly a historic event for music and history lovers

Hanging out with Paul for me would seem like hanging out with an old friend you haven't seen in a while. And yet hasn't changed one bit since the day you last seen him. That's the vibe I got watching that episode. He's such a humble man. I think that's part of the reason he's still with us today.

shows how gracious macca is though, because clearly it wasn’t only the songs but moreover his presence in that car that moved corden so much. but paul also knows that pointing that out might’ve been embarrassing to james so he accredited it all to the music instead. class.
