What an awesome shot X 2. Illustrates the importance of learning from the misses to the hits! Proud Dad and Son moment! Thx for Sharing your experience.

I have used the Barnes bullets 180 gr, in my 300 win mag for over 25 years and have taken moose to 450 yards and recovered bullet on off side next to hide. At 200 yards it was a pass through. A goat at 460 yards and a pass through. Bullet has been great, and very accurate.

Thanks for showing the misses as well as the hits. Too many channels try to show how they are a perfect shot when we all know everybody has a miss once in a while.

Congrats to you and your son. Love to see young men and women get into hunting and fishing. The drop on the elk is a testimony to Barnes LRX bullets. I shoot lots of the LRX bullets and have never been disappointed. Great shot. Great video too.

Awesome video! I've been using copper for 20 years now and love them. The 7 PRC just seems to hit that perfect sweet spot in the cartridge spectrum. Keep up the good work!

Been following for a couple months now and your definitely my new favorite channel. Oh, I even purchased a scope that you originally said to stay away from and then changed your mind in a different video. I love it and wouldn’t of even known if I wasn’t watching.

Also a bonus that you’re a fellow Utah’n.. Keep up the great work.

I have zero Elk under my belt and am probably the worst hunter ever, but learning, is a big part of the attraction for me and why I wont let my mistakes keep me from trying to become the highly skilled, experienced hunter I hope to be . Good shooting and keep it up.

Life is about the failures just as much as the wins. What makes you who you are is how you respond to both. Thanks for teaching your son the importance of diligence after a possible miss to make sure you're not abandoning a wounded animal and then getting up and going again.

WOW....that was an exciting hunt. Thanks for sharing. This is more realistic than some may like to admit. It happens and you showed that. Thank you!

I’m so jealous of you and your boy.
The life you are giving your son is amazing.
I’m doing what I can with my kids but wish I had the opportunity to do what you do.

Big fan, but I really didn't like the shot selection on that miss. To call it a quartering away shot would be generous. That was facing away with her head and neck turned. Not enough patience.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I love it when dads are out in the field hunting with their sons. We have got to pass that legacy along.

I am really becoming fond of the 7 PRC. For my next rifle I want to get a 6.8 Western or a 7 PRC.

I drew a Utah cow elk tag and this past week, I took two of my son with me. It was such a good time. We all had a blast and we got our elk. I used a Browning X-bolt in a 270 with 140 grain ballistic tip bullet. It worked like a champ. We had tenderloin last night. Elk has to be my favorite wild game meat. It was so good. A day that I will re-live for a long time and reflect over and over again as I wait for my next hunt.
