Well, that was a novel video and an unexpected surprise. I enjoyed it. The town centre is very much like many town centres, but when you moved to Furness Abbey, that's when it got really interesting. I never knew it existed, being a born and bred Southerner. It was only recently that I looked up Barrow-in-Furness on the map. Yesterday I heard someone refer to the Furness Peninsula. Yes, by all means make some more videos like this. I would like to see the harbour if there is one. And perhaps the shipyard as I am a mechanic at heart, as well as a foodie.

Thank you Gareth, that was a nice trip down memory lane for me! I live in Canada since 1972 but I was born and raised in Barrow, and used to go to the Abbey ruins with my mom and dad and played around by myself climbing the stairs to nowhere in one ruin... I'm sure that's not allowed now! Why is that road closed? I have photo's of the Abbey Tavern and sitting outside on the bench. Nice memories. I saw a video from a year ago of Barrow and all the shops boarded up, is it still like that? The guy said a few million pounds were being pumped into the town to get life back into it, I hope that happened. I was last there in 2008 when my mom died, and haven't been back since. I used to go every year or when I had the airfare! I miss the beach, and the sea... guess at 70 (here in 2024) I'm getting nostalgic looking up the old birthplace. Love from Canada... hope the chili was delicious!

Love the videos bud! I am always spot on after watching one. This one was great for a bit of a change. You are better at doing them than you think. It would be some craic to do an outdoor cooking one like the celeb chefs do! But make it like a sausage and mash one. Keep it up and look after yourselves.

Many a great time flying down those hills when the kids were young xmas time, especially that year in the 90s when it was covered all over in snow, some kids came flying past me in a plastic dustbin with the top cut out. Lol nice to reminder thanks Gaz.

What a great video it's been good to see you out and about shopping and looking at the places you use to go as a child and seeing how it's changed. Any trips out and about are good with me it's good go see different places on road trips out. It's strange how you mentioned tunnels I used to go into tunnels as a kid. Kids don't seen to do that now like you said, it's the adults who have started doing that now on video's.
