I revisit Sunday’s message from Pastor Shawn and a few things stand out:

* Forgiveness does not take away the pain from the past, it gives us a chance at our future. - Thank you, God, for this precious gift!!
* Forgiveness is not contingent on an apology. - That apology may never come.
* Forgiveness is not forgetting. - Remembering helps us to not repeat that mistake, prevents us from making that decision, or helps us no longer tolerate that behavior.

* Forgiveness is not reconciliation. - This requires both parties accepting their share of the blame and making amends. This may not happen.
👏🏼

Forgiveness IS:
* canceling the debt
*ongoing - especially when a relationship with the offending party is inevitable
And, true healing and forgiveness is wanting good in the life of the person who harmed you. 💖

I pray, daily, for an abundance in blessings for all who I’ve offended/hurt, and especially for those who have offended/hurt me. Their season in my life has led me to this very moment and, thanks to God, it is all well with my soul. God is good!!! 💞

This is exactly what I need to hear. It’s better to fight head to head before finally forgive. Because if we forgive as if nothing happened, there will be a greater second wave and the conflict isn’t finished yet
